West Ham’s chances of playing in the next season of English Premier League received a major boost when club escaped a points deduction over the controversial signings of Argentine pair of Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano.
Though, West Ham suffered a heavy fine of 5.5 million pounds after a committee appointed by the Football Association come to the conclusion that the club does not own Tevez and Mascherano. According to FA rules, it is mandatory for the clubs to own their players rather than using them as a resource from third party.
This decision by FA is pivotal for West Ham because if they manage to stay in the top flight of English football, they can easily cover up the fine amount as well as have a chance to grow as a football club rather than battling it out in lower divisions of English championship.
What’s more, Tevez would be available to play for West Ham for the rest of the season after a new contractual agreement has been signed between the club and Tevez.
